It just works. You record a video and it’s just there, ready to be shared.

Lottie is the UK's leading care home comparison platform, helping over 40,000 families a month find the right care. When their CTPO joined, he brought a culture of async video that transformed how the team works — from design reviews to board meetings, Supercut became the way Lottie communicates.

The UK's leading care home comparison platform, helping families find and compare elderly care services. Rated #1 on Trustpilot for aged care.

The Challenge

A growing team needed a better medium than text to communicate.

Before Supercut, Lottie had no real video communication workflow. Feature showcases were done live, design reviews required getting everyone in the same room, and information was shared through text that lacked the nuance of a real conversation.

Julien had seen the power of async video at a previous remote-first company and knew it was a way better medium than pure text. One of the first things he did when he joined Lottie was find a tool to bring that same culture of async communication.

Why Supercut

It just works. Simple is really what we want.

After briefly trying Loom, the team switched to Supercut almost instantly. What won them over was the simplicity. “You don't spend time on a daily basis thinking about whether the tool works or not. It just needs to get out of the way,” Julien says.

The AI features sealed it. Auto-generated thumbnails, auto-titles, and a table of contents on every video mean there's nothing to configure after recording. The team also uses two branded workspaces to match their different company brands, switching between them depending on the use case.

How They Use It

From design reviews to board meetings, video is everywhere.

Every new feature at Lottie ships with a Supercut. They have a dedicated channel where engineers share video walkthroughs of what they've built. For design reviews, 95% of the time the designer starts with a Supercut explaining what they built and asking questions, then there's a review on Figma, and maybe a live session at the end to sort out what's left.

Board meetings were transformed too. Lottie pre-records everything before the meeting so the actual session is just discussion. “We're pretty much one of the only companies that pre-records videos for everything before the board meeting,” Julien says. “Every time the board loves it.”

Beyond product and leadership, the team uses Supercut for HR updates, hiring videos, and external communication. “Video recording is really part of our flows. If we didn't have that, we'd lose a lot of efficiencies,” Julien says. It was one of the first tools he brought in when he joined.
